Always Available
MoaTails is built offline-first. That means your pet's data doesn't live "in the cloud" waiting for a connection — it lives right on your phone. The cloud is just the backup.
No WiFi? No problem. I keep everything saved right on your phone. Your pet's care doesn't pause just because the internet does!
What Works Offline
Everything. Specifically:
View your calendar — See all upcoming and past events
Complete tasks — Mark medications as given, log weights, check off activities
Create new events — Add one-time or recurring events
View and create pet profiles — Access all pet info and add new pets
Browse documents — View stored PDFs, images, and records
Read notifications — See your notification history
Update settings — Change preferences and configurations
How Sync Works
When you're back online, MoaTails automatically syncs all changes to the cloud:
Changes queue up — Every action you take offline is recorded locally
Sync happens automatically — When a connection is detected, queued changes are pushed to the server
Team members see updates — Once synced, your care team's devices update too
No manual action needed — You don't need to hit a "sync" button or do anything special
If you and a care team member both make changes while offline, MoaTails handles the merge automatically when you're both back online. Your data stays consistent.
When Offline Mode Shines
At the vet — Vet office WiFi is notoriously unreliable. Pull up your pet's vaccination records, medication history, and weight chart without skipping a beat.
Traveling — Road trips, flights, rural getaways — your pet's care schedule is always with you.
Countryside walks — No cell service on that woodland trail? Log the walk anyway.
Power or internet outages — Life doesn't stop, and neither does your pet's care routine.
Data Safety
Your data is safe in both directions:
Local first — Data is written to your device before it's sent anywhere. Even if the app crashes mid-sync, your local data is intact.
Cloud backup — Once synced, your data is encrypted and stored securely on MoaTails servers. If you lose your phone, sign in on a new device and everything downloads.
